Chandigarh: The district crime cell of the police has arrested a taxi driver and a meat shop owner after 34 gram of heroin was allegedly recovered from him in Sector 52. A police team patrolling near government houses spotted Harpreet Singh (20) and Charanjit Singh (34), both residents of Tarn Taran, Punjab, walking towards while holding bags.
As they noticed the cops, they changed their direction and tried to flee.
However, cops caught them. Police claimed to have recovered 22.08 gram of heroin from Harpreet Singh and 12.44 gram of heroin from Charanjit Singh. Cops said Harpreet Singh used to obtain heroin from Amritsar and Tarn Taran for sale in the Tricity.
A local court remanded the two accused to police custody. tnn
