Gang affiliation
Sombir is the brother of notorious gangster Anil Chhippi, and has ties with the Lawrence Bishnoi and Kala Jathedi Gang. Notably, he entered the world of crime following involvement in a crime due to personal rivalry. He was also involved in the murder of a gang member of the Mainpal Badli Gang in Bhondsi Jail, Gurugram, in 2014.
STF managed to get his lookout circular as well as an open-end warrant to facilitate his arrest. Last year, Interpol had issued a Red Corner Notice for him, which led to his arrest. An STF official said that his arrest will lead to more crucial arrests of gangsters and would curtail their activities as well.
