MANSA: Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's father Balkaur Singh has told the police that when he came to know about the singer going out in his Mahindra Thar, and leaving behind his bulletproof SUV and security guards, he rushed behind him.
Balkaur Singh, according to the FIR registered at Mansa City 1 police station, said he went behind the slain rapper with the bulletproof vehicle and the guards, but it was too late by the time he reached Jawaharke village, where the attack took place.
Balkaur said as his son had been getting threats and ransom calls from gangsters, he got a bulletproof SUV prepared for him. "We preferred him to leave in the bulletproof vehicle," he said in the complaint. He said the attackers had driven towards Barnala Kalan village after the attack.
Mansa SSP Gaurav Toora said police from many districts were on the lookout for the attackers. "Some persons have been rounded up, but nothing can be revealed at the moment as it would hamper the investigation," he said.
Meanwhile, an Alto used in the killing of Moose Wala was found abandoned in the fields near Dharamkot in Moga district on Monday.
