Punjab BJP senior leader urges PM Modi, home minister to sort out farmers’ issues soon

has urged the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as the Union home minister Amit Shah to listen to the

protesting farmers

and resolve their genuine issues at the earliest.


“Sarkar mata-pita hoti ha. Sarkar praja se jidd nahi karti. Woh kisanon ke pas ayein. Kisanon ki baat sunain aur jo unki sahi mang ha wo mang puri karein. Aakhir kuch sahi ha, tabhi to sare kisan ikatthe ho gaye hain – UP ha, Punjab ha, Haryana ha, Madhya Pradesh se aa rahe hain, aur bhi pranton se,” she said in a strongly-worded video which went viral on Wednesday.

Chawla, who is known to mince no words, also urged those political leaders, who had said that the protesting

farmers

were Khalistanis or some among them were Khalistanis, to apoligise to the farmers. “Political leaders should not forget that many among these protesting farmers are those who had served in defence forces on the border and there are many whose children are still serving in defence forces, CRPF, and Punjab police,” said Chawla. She added that political leaders and other people commenting on farmers should not forget that farmer produces food to feed the country.

She also urged the Prime Minister that since farmers were his children and progeny, he should sit with the farmers and sort out their genuine issues at the earliest. Protest should not continue for long on the roads, she advised.

Chawla, former Punjab cabinet minister, also applauded farmers for ensuring their peaceful protest. “Koi chota mota neta protest karta ha to kayi sarkari aur gair sarkari sampati jala deta ha,”she added. But farmers neither harmed any person nor did they damage any property in their over 2-month long protest, said Chawla. Thanking farmers for carrying out peaceful protest, she advised political leaders to learn from farmers to protest in a peaceful manner.
