One held with 2 kg heroin, seven pistols in Asr

Amritsar: Amritsar police have dismantled a drug and illegal arms smuggling module following the arrest of one accused and seizure of 2.1 kg of heroin, along with seven sophisticated pistols, from his possession, commissioner of police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar informed mediapersons on Monday.Pistols seized from Khush Kumar alias Bholu (26) include one 9mm gladiator (made in Turkey), one 9mm Zigana X-SHOT, one .30 bore Bretta (made in Italy), one .30 bore Zigana (made in China), one .30 bore (made in Austria), one .30 bore (made in China) and another .30 bore weapon. Kumar also has snatching charges and cases under NDPS Act and Arms Act registered against him.The CP said the probe has revealed that the pistols were intended to be supplied to criminal elements. An FIR under Section 21-C of the NDPS Act and Section 25 of the Arms Act have been registered gainst the accused at Division C police station, the officer said.
