Missing woman found in Mumbai

<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">MOGA: A newly wed woman of Dhudike village of the district, who was missing since January 14, has been found from a village near Mumbai. A police party led by assistant sub inspector Tara Chand brought the woman Surjit Kaur (name changed) here on Monday. Her medical examination was conducted at civil hospital Moga.<br /><br />Surjit Kaur had gone to Amritsar on January 14 with her husband Jaspal Singh, a soldier in Indian army.Jaspal had returned to Dhudike alone next day and declared that his wife disappeared from Golden Temple. Suspecting foul play by the girl''s mother had lodged a complaint at Mehna police station of Moga district alleging that her daughter had been killed by her husband. <br /><br />A few days ago Moga police received a massage from Mumbai police that Surjit Kaur was found in Vapi town near Mumbai in a serious condition. Mehna police brought her back on Monday.<br /><br />Narrating her tale of woes, the victim told that her husband Jaspal Singh took her to Amritsar under the pretext of paying obeisance at Golden Temple. She was allegedly sold away to illegal traffickers there. Surjit Kaur alleged that she was kept in a hotel room in Amritsar in a semi conscious state and was repeatedly raped by three men. <br /><br />Then she was taken to Kota Bundi in Rajasthan and was forced to sleep with many persons in different hotels. Surjit said that she was then shifted to Mumbai and made an attempt to sell her off to a woman running a brothel. However she fell ill and her condition deteriorated compelling her captors to leave her in Vapi where the Maharashtra police took her in custody. She alleged that she was administered sedative whenever her captors shifted her from one place to other.<br /><br />When asked about the cause of betrayal by her husband, Surjit told that her husband suspected that she was pregnant before the marriage and due to this reason he used to maltreat her.<br /><br />The Mehna police have registered a case against the husband.<br /><br /><formid=367815></formid=367815></div> </div>
