Anoop stated that on the day of the incident, he was working at the house of Rishi Kumar in the same village, when, around 12.30 pm, a co-worker informed him that Dharambir stabbed Sarita. On rushing home, he found his wife lying dead in the courtyard near the stove, with multiple stab wounds and bloodstains. The complainant's mother, Saraswati, told the police that she was resting in her room when Sarita ran into the courtyard screaming.
Dharambir allegedly chased her with a knife and stabbed her repeatedly. When Saraswati attempted to intervene, the accused threatened her, forcing her to flee to seek help from neighbours. She later saw Dharambir leaving the house carrying a blood-stained knife. The police registered a case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and completed the investigation. Relying on eyewitness testimony and other evidence, the court held the accused guilty and awarded him life imprisonment.MSID: 127840733 413 |
