Inflation hits women hardest: Sudha Bhardwaj

Panchkula: Former Haryana Mahila Congress president Sudha Bhardwaj has raised concern over rising inflation, saying spiralling prices of LPG, fuel and essential goods are hitting households hard, especially women managing daily expenses.

In a statement, Bhardwaj, who recently contested the mayoral poll unsuccessfully, said the latest hike in cooking gas prices has further strained family budgets. She said women are struggling to manage kitchen expenses as food and essentials grow costlier while incomes remain stagnant.

Alleging govt failure to control inflation, she said rising petrol and diesel prices have driven up transportation costs, pushing up prices of everyday items.

She urged the govt to regulate LPG, fuel and essential commodity prices to provide relief. Bhardwaj warned that unchecked inflation could worsen the financial condition of households across the country.
