CHANDIGARH: The plaques bearing the names of former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, former speaker Kuldeep Sharma and former deputy speaker Akram Khan under the portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Bhim Rao Ambedkar installed in the Haryana Assembly were removed on Thursday.
The plaques were removed after the issue was raised by health minister Anil Vij, questioning the need of such plaques bearing names of Hooda and the former speaker. Thereafter, a decision was taken in the house, which was supported by all BJP and INLD MLAs. Later, staff of the state assembly removed the plaques after the proceedings of Thursday's session got over.
