Shimla: The weather department has issued a heatwave alert for isolated parts of Himachal Pradesh on May 26 and 27. However, weather conditions are expected to change from May 28 onwards, with rain, thunderstorms and hail likely across several parts of the state.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, districts including Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur are likely to experience heatwave conditions over the next two days.
The Met has also issued an orange alert for hailstorms, lightning and gusty winds at isolated places in districts, including Kangra, Kullu, Mandi and Shimla, on May 28 and 29.
Meanwhile, Una recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41.6°C degrees Celsius on Monday, which was 3.1°C above normal. Among the tourist destinations, Shimla recorded a maximum temperature of 29.3°C, Dharamshala 34°C, and Manali 23.8°C.
Kukumseri and Keylong recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 4.6°C each on Monday.
