Chandigarh: Haryana is preparing an aggressive roadmap to align its workforce with future industry demands, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), green technologies, advanced manufacturing and digital skilling as part of a major overhaul of the state's vocational training ecosystem.Reviewing reforms in the skill development and industrial training (SDIT) department, Haryana chief secretary Anurag Rastogi said the state aims to modernise Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), introduce AI and emerging technology courses, and strengthen industry-linked training systems in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of ‘Viksit Bharat'.Officials said the govt is also expanding skill programmes in renewable energy and advanced manufacturing while preparing large-scale upskilling initiatives for govt employees to improve digital readiness and workplace efficiency.Over 7,000 contractual workers deployed through Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam have already been trained in soft skills and IT literacy through the Haryana Skill Development Mission in collaboration with Haryana Knowledge Corporation Limited. The govt now plans similar training for Group C and Group D staff, including drivers and peons, across districts.To identify future employment trends, the state has commissioned a comprehensive skill-gap study, expected by July, focusing on emerging technologies and industrial requirements.MSID:: 131264278 413 |
