Extradition of Mehron reflects Punjab govt’s firm stance on crime: AAP

Chandigarh: The Punjab AAP on Friday welcomed the "successful apprehension" of Amritpal Singh Mehron, the key accused in the Kamal Kaur murder case, stating that his arrest and return from the United Arab Emirates reflected the firm commitment of the Bhagwant Mann govt to uphold law and order.Punjab AAP general secretary Baltej Pannu said the social media influencer Kamal Kaur was murdered in Bathinda in June last year, and since then, the Punjab Police have consistently pursued the accused.He said under the leadership of CM Mann, the govt had adopted a zero-tolerance policy against crime, which ensured that the accused was tracked and brought back to face justice.Pannu emphasised that people who believed they could commit a crime in Punjab and escape by hiding in another state or country were living under a serious misconception. "No matter where they go, they will be traced and brought back," he said.Pannu also said no individual who takes the law into their own hands would be spared.
