Bizman abducted, robbed after accident in Zirakpur

Mohali: A businessman has alleged he was abducted, assaulted and robbed of cash and valuables worth several lakhs following a road accident in Zirakpur.

On his complaint, police have booked the driver of a Baleno car and three unidentified accomplices. Efforts are on to trace and arrest the accused.

Rahul Pal (31), a resident of Trishla City and a businessman on VIP Road, told police he was on his way to office around 11.30am on June 6 when a speeding blue Baleno rammed his vehicle near Maya Garden.

He alleged that four men got out of the car, forced him into their vehicle, assaulted him and snatched his belongings, including a mobile phone, laptop, handbag, about ₹45,000 in cash, two gold rings, a bracelet and a gold coin.

The victim further alleged that he was threatened with harm before being driven around various parts of Zirakpur. The accused later abandoned him by the roadside and fled.

Pal contacted a friend, who took him to Civil Hospital, Dhakoli, for treatment.

Investigating officer ASI Satinder Singh said CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the accused and establish the sequence of events. Further action will follow based on evidence.
