Over 96% students clear CBSE Class X from state, Puri girl scores a perfect 100%
CBSE Class 10 students celebrate their results in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday
Bhubaneswar: Around 96.27% of 65,204 students from Odisha, who appeared for Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X examinations this year, cleared the exams, the results of which were announced on Wednesday. The exams were conducted from Feb 17 to March 10.CM Mohan Charan Majhi congratulated the successful candidates. “Regardless of the results, let everyone move forward with confidence to shape a new future, remain prepared to face every challenge in life with firm determination, and maintain strong morale,” he posted on X.As many as 34,726 boys and 31,478 girls from 741 schools appeared for the Class X board exams across 272 centres.Schools in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, as well as Puri, recorded strong performances, with several institutions reporting 100% first division results. Principal of Mother’s Public School, Poly Patnaik, said Teena Rath from the school’s Puri campus scored a perfect 100%.The CBSE follows the ‘best of five’ rule for calculating percentages if a student takes six or more subjects. Rath secured 100 marks in English, social science, science and IT, and 99 in mathematics, achieving a perfect aggregate of 500 out of 500.
Among DAV schools, Ruhan Mohanty and Shreya Tripathy of DAV Chandrasekharpur scored 99.8% each, securing full marks in mathematics, science, Sanskrit and artificial intelligence. Lajpat Rai DAV and SCB DAV, both in Cuttack, recorded 100% results.Kalpita Sabat of BJEM School has also scored 99.8%. As many as 90 students, who appeared the examination, secured over 90% marks.Adweya Sarangi of KIIT International School too scored 99.8%, with all students securing first division, said principal Sanjay Suar. From KIIT’s SEN (Special Education Needs) Globe, Satwik Santosh Tripathy recorded the highest score of 95.4%.At SAI International School, Priyansu Pritis Dash secured 99.6%, followed by Soham Mishra with 99.4%. School chairperson Silpi Sahoo said the institute maintained an exemplary performance, with 100% students scoring above 60%. About 43.2% scored above 95%, 69.4% above 90%, and 94.3% above 75%. The school’s average stood at 90.6%.Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar region, comprising Odisha and West Bengal, recorded an overall pass percentage of 94.67, an improvement from 92.64% in 2025. Girls outperformed boys in the region, with pass percentages of 95.69% and 93.8% respectively.Institution-wise, govt-aided schools recorded a pass percentage of 62.5, while govt schools stood at 94.37%. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and Kendriya Vidyalayas recorded pass percentages of 99.92 and 99.43 respectively.As per CBSE practice, no merit list is released.
