2 youths arrested for raping minor

Rourkela: Two youths were arrested in Sundargarh district on Sunday for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl.According to police, the survivor visited her relative’s home in the district on May 28. “The survivor and another girl were outside the house late at night when two local youths assaulted them. While one girl escaped, the other was taken to a secluded spot and sexually abused by both,” a police officer said.The accused allegedly threatened her not to disclose the incident. She later reached the house and informed her cousin and subsequently, her sister and brother-in-law.Her mother lodged an FIR on Saturday. Police registered a gang-rape case and began investigation. The first accused aged 25 was arrested on Sunday, while the second, aged 19, who allegedly fled, was later arrested in Deogarh district on Sunday. Medical tests of the survivor and the accused have been conducted.
