Bhopal: CM Mohan Yadav met Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Saturday, seeking guidance on a proposed memorial and redevelopment plan for the former Union Carbide factory land in Bhopal.
The state has drawn up a blueprint to turn 87 acres of the site into a Bhopal Gas Tragedy Memorial along with a science park, a convention centre, a modern laboratory dedicated to national security and a national research centre focused on development.

The CM stated that Bhopal witnessed a devastating gas tragedy 40 years ago, in which over 25,000 people lost their lives. Last year, the state government successfully disposed of the hazardous waste stored at the Union Carbide factory site.
Yadav said after the meeting that the state govt is undertaking several innovations for the welfare of farmers.
