‘She threatens to kill us’: MP man pleads with police to marry wife to her lover
BHOPAL: In a case that has left police baffled, a 40-year-old man in Singrauli has urged cops to get his wife married to her lover, saying he and his four children live under constant threat. Claiming his wife openly meets her paramour despite repeated objections, the man walked into Waidhan Kotwali with a written plea, stating: “If she won’t give him up, let them marry — at least then my kids and I may survive.”According to his complaint at Waidhan Kotwali, the man said his wife frequently meets her lover despite repeated objections. Whenever he protests, both allegedly threaten to kill him and his children. “I cannot bear this anymore. They openly say they love each other and will live together. If that is the case, police should get them married so that at least my children and I can live in peace,” the man wrote in his petition. The couple has been married since 2008 and have a 16-year-old son, a 14-year-old daughter, and 11-year-old twin daughters. The man says he works at a private firm and has been trying to keep the family afloat, but claims the relationship that surfaced four years ago tore his household apart.
“I tried to counsel her, even informed her family, but no one listened. Whenever I resist, she assaults me and threatens to kill us,” he alleged in the complaint. He added that his teenage son recently called him to say he found his mother with the lover at home, leading to a confrontation. A video of the altercation has also surfaced.Police confirmed receiving the complaint. “The man has submitted an application. Both the woman and her companion are adults. We are verifying facts, and action will be taken as per law,” say police.A video statement of the man also surfaced on Friday wherein he could be heard saying, “When I am not at home, my wife engages in inappropriate activities by inviting her lover over and sending our children outside. When I confront her, she threatens to kill me if I don't stay silent. The children are sent to play outside, and when they inform me, she threatens them as well, saying she will harm them and me. For the past three years, she has been involved with a person and refuses to stop despite my objections. Today, I filed a complaint against her at the police station. I have submitted applications multiple times before and informed her family, but they claim it is not their concern. When I protest, both the person and my wife threaten to kill me and harm the children. Today, around 4 pm, my child came home from playing and caught them together. My child called me, saying that the person was at our house again. I told my child to be careful and that I was coming. Afterward, the two of them stayed in the house for an hour, locking the door and sending the children outside. After an hour, they left the house again.”
