Man rapes & blackmails 16-year-old

Bhopal: A man allegedly trapped, raped and blackmailed a 16-year-old girl after befriending her on social media in the city.

The accused allegedly sent her private photographs to her family members when she distanced herself from him. When the family attempted to intervene and confront the youth to resolve the matter, he misbehaved with them and issued threats. Acting on the complaint, police on Tuesday filed a case against the accused under relevant sections of BNS and POCSO Act and arrested him.

Police said the 16-year-old girl is a school student who connected with a youth on Instagram a few months ago. In January, the man lured the minor to a hotel under the pretext of an outing. Once inside the hotel room, he allegedly intimidated the girl and raped her.
