Cong to protest NEET paper leak across state on May 16

Bhopal: Congress will hold a state-wide protest over the alleged leak of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) on May 16. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday state Congress chief Jitu Patwari alleged, “Approximately 24 lakh students took the NEET exam, but once again, paper leaks and rigging have shattered the dreams and aspirations of hardworking students and their families.” Patwari announced that the state Congress will protest the repeated paper leaks and irregularities under BJP rule on May 16.

He argued that this is not the first incident. “Similar incidents have occurred in several previous examinations, including in 2017 and 2021. And the BJP’s methodology involves a tendency to shirk political responsibility. Each time, the govt and BJP leaders are shielded, while the entire blame is placed on employees and officials,” Patwari said.



The state Congress president alleged that major examination irregularities are increasingly happening in BJP-ruled state and at the national level. He alleged that the ideology of the BJP-RSS combine interferes in the education system and attempts to establish its members in various institutions. He alleged that the family members of the culprit caught in the NEET case had been selected in previous examinations also, which raises serious questions about the fairness of previous examinations.

Patwari said, “A middle-class family struggles for years to make their child appear for the NEET examination. Parents sacrifice their own needs and spend lakhs of rupees on coaching, but the BJP govt’s policies and corrupt system are destroying those dreams. The entire examination system and online processes in the country are being continuously manipulated. The BJP govt is playing with democratic institutions and the future of the youth.”

The state Congress president alleged that the highest number of paper leaks and recruitment scams have occurred in BJP-ruled states. He stated that paper leaks occurred frequently in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh, but fair investigations never reached the culprits because they enjoyed political patronage. He specifically mentioned the Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh, stating that the future of the youth was systematically ruined under BJP rule.
