Colours spill onto streets as Holi revelry sweeps Bhopal
Bhopal: State capital celebrated Holi with large crowds and widespread festivities on Wednesday as revellers gathered across streets, squares and neighbourhoods in the state capital.The festival drew families and friends to markets, residential societies and colonies, where they applied gulal in red, yellow, green and pink, played music on DJs and danced amid water and colour.

Groups chased one another with pichkaris, as laughter and greetings of "Happy Holi" echoed in different localities.Organised processions moved through the city under the Hindu Utsav Samiti. A Holi yatra started from Dayanand Chowk and passed through Bhopal Chowk Bazaar, Peergate and the Bhavani temple before ending at Janakpuri. Onlookers watched from balconies and sidewalks and joined the celebrations along the route.The celebrations also took place at the chief minister's residence, where public representatives and dignitaries arrived at CM Mohan Yadav residence and applied gulal to his cheeks and forehead.
