BHOPAL: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday, launched a retaliatory attack on Congress general secretary
Digvijaya Singh for hatching conspiracy to defame chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in
Vyapam scam. BJP seniors in a planned manner address press conferences in seven main cities raising irregularities in appointments of daily wage employees during Congress regime.
Addressing reporters in Bhopal, BJP state president Nandkumar Singh alleged that after High Court verdict on an illegal appointment of a daily wager
Arun Tiwari, 16 more beneficiaries have come to light of the same nature. He alleged that Digvijaya Singh during his tenure as chief minister, appointed several daily wage employees without any legal procedure. "All the appointments done at Digvijaya Singh's whims and fancies, during latter's ten-year regime, from 1993 to 2003", allege Nandkumar.
He however, could not clarify as to why BJP being in power for the last 12 years, was silent over this issue and could not find out a single case. This is only after Vyapam scam that BJP is exposing such scandals. Only one thing he specifically mentioned that appointments during Digvijaya regime were more scandalous than Vyapam scam, unwittingly agreeing to the fact that Vyapam is a serious scam.
Nandkumar further alleged that all the documents pertaining to illegal appointments have been collected from various complainants who after knowing court's verdict, contacted his office for justice. "We have substantial evidences to prove that Digvijaya Singh used his influence as a chief minister and appointed people close to him or his party", claimed Nandkumar.
Besides, Nandkumar, senior BJP leaders also raised the issue while talking to the press at various places. Union minister
Narendra Singh Tomar was in Ujjain, state cabinet minister
Bhupendra Singh in Sagar, public relations minister in Rewa, former MP Vikram Verma in Indore, state health minister Narottam Mishra in Gwalior and MP Rakesh Singh raised this issue before press in
Jabalpur.
Replying to BJP's allegations, Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh tweeted in th morning that all decisions taken by him were as per government rules. Later he added that if he had appointed somebody by relaxing rules then he took the matter to the cabinet for approval. "It was not like Vyapam where youths were looted and appointments were forged", he replied. Later in the evening, talking to reporters in Delhi, Digvijaya Singh challenged BJP and Shivraj Singh to present a single proof of his connivance.
With BJP leaders unrelenting, it seems to be a fight to finish battle between both Congress and BJP over Vyapam scandal. But now the BJP leaders are taking "one on one" with Congress leaders beginning from Digvijaya Singh.
