Bhopal: A sessions court in Bhopal awarded a compensation of Rs 46 lakh to the family of a clerk in the collector office at Bhopal, who was killed in a road accident.
The court of district judge Swayam Prakash Dubey ordered the driver and the owner of the load auto, which had hit the scooter of the deceased, and the insurance company with which the loading auto is insured for third party claims to pay the amount to the family.
According to counsel for the family of the deceased, L B Prasad, the deceased 55-year-old Ramesh Kumar Prajapati was posted in the OBCs and minorities welfare department in the office of district collector as assistant grade-3.
On Sept 10, 2024, he was travelling on his scooter when he was hit by a recklessly driven loading auto near the police post at Bhadbhada from behind. A seriously injured Prajapati was rushed to a hospital nearby, where he succumbed to his juries during treatment. Ratibad police station had registered a case in regard to the incident on the complaint received from the family of the deceased. A charge-sheet was also presented in the court.
