:A 40-year-old man was on Saturday allegedly murdered by his wife after heharassed her in an inebriated state at their house in Doddathogur nearElectronic City.
According to police, the deceased Mohan Reddy was anative of Kadri near Ananthpur in Andhra Pradesh and was working in the city asa security guard. His wife Prabhavathi worked in a garmentfactory.
The couple used to have frequent fights over money sinceMohan always harassed Prabhavathi for money to buy his drinks. On Saturdaynight, he returned home at around 10.30 pm in a drunken state and startedharassing her for money. Prabhavathi, in a fit of rage, allegedly smashed Mohanwith a rod, killing him. Electronic City police have arrestedPrabhavathi.
LABOURER DIES IN FREAK ACCIDENT
A 22-year-oldconstruction worker from Tamil Nadu died in a freak accident at an IT park siteon Hosur road on Saturday night.
Muruga (22) was working on the topfloor of a seven-storey building where a lift was being fixed. At around 7.30pm, a heavy machine was being lifted and suddenly a cable snapped. Muruga wasstuck between the wires and his body was cut into pieces.
Accordingto the police, Muruga was residing in Garebavipalya with his family. His fatherworks in the gulf. The police have registered a case of negligence against sixpeople, including two contractors.
ACCIDENT
A 45-year-oldman was killed and 40 others were seriously injured after the vehicle they weretravelling in toppled near Nelamangala on Sunday morning. The tempo, ferryingpeople to a wedding in Yelachagere, toppled near Kempaninganahalli cross ataround 10 am, when the driver braked hard on a slope. The Nelamangala policesaid Anjanappa alias Ganganna (45) from Yelachagere died, while 40 otherssuffered serious injuries. The injured were admitted to hospitals in the cityand Nelamangala. About 10 people are in a critical condition and they have beenadmitted to Nimhans and Victoria hospital. The driver Lokesh fled the scene soonafter the accident. The police are trying to trace the owner of the vehicle.
