Kaamya Karthikeyan, 18-year-old daughter of a naval officer and alumna of the Navy Children School, has made history by becoming the youngest Indian and the second-youngest female in the world to ski to the South Pole. She completed a grueling journey from 89º South, covering approximately 60 nautical miles (115 km) on foot while pulling a sled with her expedition load, braving temperatures of -30℃ and gale-force winds, reaching the South Pole on 27 December 2025. The Indian Navy congratulated Kaamya on her remarkable achievement, noting that she is pursuing the Explorers Grand Slam, which involves climbing the highest peaks on all seven continents and skiing to both poles. Kaamya had earlier completed the Seven Summits Challenge, including Mt Everest from Nepal.#kaamyakarthikeyan #indianavy #southpole #explorersgrandslam #adventuresports #sevensummits #mteverest #polarjourney #youngachiever #mountaineering
