Bengaluru: The Karnataka high court Thursday ordered notices to the Union ministry of electronics and
Google India in response to a petition filed by Justice AHMD Nawaz, a sitting judge of the Sri Lankan Supreme Court.
The petitioner prayed for the removal of alleged defamatory content pertaining to him, as well as the URLs of news reports published against him.

Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum posted the petition to March 16 for further consideration. The petitioner was told to issue a personal notice via email to the websites ‘Colombo Telegraph' and ‘Lankaenews', the other respondents in his petition.
According to the petitioner, the defamatory articles against him, published in 2015 and 2020, traversed far beyond the shores of Sri Lanka and inflicted grievous damage upon his international reputation as a jurist.
