BANGALORE: A 58-year-old joint director of the economics and statistics department was on Wednesday arrested on charges of cheating several NGOs and private companies to the tune of Rs 1 crore.
Raja Gopal of Vyalikaval was caught after acomplaint was filed by the proprietor of a software consultant. The Jayanagarpolice said Raja Gopal allegedly took money from his clients, includingSheshagiri Rao, proprietor of Personal software company in Jayanagar 8th Block.He promised them to secure projects from the World Bank.
The policesaid Raja Gopal `allegedly' conned 40 persons and several NGOs.
