The 2025 NFL season hasn’t even kicked off, and already the Dallas Cowboys are being written off. Ever since star linebacker Micah Parsons was traded to the Green Bay Packers, the talk around the league has been that Dallas is destined to crumble. But when wide receiver CeeDee Lamb spoke to reporters in Dallas this week, he brushed the doubts aside with a calm four-word message. Asked if fans were underestimating this Cowboys team, Lamb replied simply: “Absolutely. But it’s fine.” Doubts may swirl, but Lamb insists the Cowboys are ready to prove people wrong. Are they?

CeeDee Lamb’s message to Micah Parsons and Dak Prescott’s comeback could decide the Cowboys’ 2025 fate

When CeeDee Lamb was pressed further about whether that lack of respect motivates the team, he didn’t budge: “Absolutely. But it’s fine.” Still, his cool tone shifted when the questions turned toward Parsons, his former teammate turned Packers star. The worst. It’s going to be weird. It’s going to be conflicting,” Lamb admitted about facing him. Then came the warning shot: “And I hope he is not in the backfield in 2 seconds. Dead a–.”
While Lamb is focused on silencing critics, quarterback Dak Prescott carries the heaviest burden. Since suffering his ankle injury in 2020, followed by nagging setbacks like last year’s hamstring issue, Prescott has not looked like the quarterback who once led this franchise with confidence. Speaking to the media in Dallas, he said those struggles are behind him and promised his running game will return this season. Could Prescott’s legs be the key to turning doubt into belief?

Micah Parsons injury puts Green Bay Packers season opener debut at risk

Over in Wisconsin, the Green Bay Packers are waiting to see what version of Micah Parsons takes the field. Ahead of Sunday’s season opener in Detroit against the Lions, Parsons has been limited by an L4/L5 facet-joint sprain in his back.
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported the injury is “legitimate,” while ESPN’s Adam Schefter added Parsons may need an epidural injection just to play. Before his trade, Dallas had placed him on a five-day corticosteroid plan and physical therapy to keep him loose. Even teammate Quay Walker said Parsons would be “full go” in midweek practices, but the official injury list will provide the real answer. The Cowboys enter 2025 with critics circling, a quarterback out to prove he’s healthy, and their former star suiting up in enemy colors.
