Gujarat University defers 40+ exams after Eid holiday moved
Ahmedabad: Gujarat University (GU) has postponed more than 40 examinations that were earlier set to be conducted on May 28, following the state govt’s decision to declare a public holiday for Eid-ul-Adha on that day. The university has now issued revised dates for all the affected examinations.
Earlier, the state govt had announced May 27 as a holiday for Eid-ul-Adha, and the university had planned its examination schedule accordingly. However, after the holiday was later shifted to May 28, the university had to reschedule a large number of exams.
According to the revised timetable, exams for courses such as FY and SY MSc IT, MSc Data Science, BA Drama Fine Arts Semester 2, and BPA Integrated Semester 4 will now be conducted on May 29. Several other exams, including BSc, BBA, BCA, BSc FAD Semesters 2 and 4, LLM Semester 2, and MBA programmes, have been moved to May 30.
In addition, some examinations like BA Semester 2 will now take place on June 1, while others, including certain MBA and IMBA exams, are scheduled between June 2 and June 6.
Meanwhile, due to the commencement of Company Secretary (CS) examinations from June 1, the timing of BCom Semester 2 exams has been changed. It will now be held from 1pm to 2pm. The university clarified that the timing of all other examinations will remain unchanged.
