Ahmedabad: 3,966 govt school posts up for grabs, apply from June 1
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat State Primary Education Selection Committee has announced a major recruitment drive for govt primary schools under district and municipal education committees across the state. Around 3,966 vacancies will be filled through this process, including posts for Vidyasahayak (primary teachers), special educators and head teachers under a special drive for persons with disabilities. Eligible candidates can apply online between June 1 and June 10.
According to the official notification released by the directorate of primary education, the recruitment will span several categories. For Vidyasahayak (Class I to V in mediums other than Gujarati), there are 987 vacancies. For special educators in Gujarati medium, 1,841 vacancies are available for Class I to V and 1,067 vacancies for Class VI to VIII. In addition, 71 posts of head teachers are set aside exclusively for candidates with disabilities under a dedicated recruitment initiative.
The online application process will start at noon on June 1 and continue until 5pm on June 10. Candidates must submit their applications through the official website of the selection committee. Applicants are advised to carefully go through all instructions regarding educational qualifications, pay scale, age limit, relaxation criteria, selection process, and the list of help centres before applying.
The notification clarifies that recruitment of Vidyasahayaks will be carried out strictly on a merit basis, in line with existing rules and resolutions of the education department. Details of vacancies for each district and municipal education committee will be published on the website after completion of the district transfer camp for primary teachers.
