Agra: A Pocso court in Firozabad on Wednesday sentenced two men to life imprisonment and a third, who was a minor at the time of the crime, to 15 years in jail for killing their 20-year-old relative in May 2021. The three had shot the victim dead after finding him with their sister. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2.55 lakh on the three convicts, additional district govt counsel Avesh Shukla said on Thursday.Pushpendra Singh had gone to his sister's house when he was confronted and later killed by her in-laws after they discovered him with one of their women relatives. The victim's sister told the court, "My brother used to visit my in-laws' house often and had developed a relationship with a woman in the family. On May 16, he came to drop me home. My husband asked him to stay the night. Later that night, the woman went to meet my brother in his room, but my husband saw them and began shouting."She added, "He and an older male relative threatened my brother with a knife. I, along with my mother-in-law, tried to calm them down. Around 3am, I heard a gunshot and ran to my brother's room. He was bleeding from his stomach. One man held a pistol while the other two pinned him down.
I pleaded with them to take him to hospital, but they watched him die." She said the men later threatened her at gunpoint, warning her not to tell anyone. She returned to her parents' home and informed her family about the incident. Police registered a case under IPC sections including 302 (murder). A few weeks later, charges were filed. Two of the accused remained in jail since their arrest, while the minor was lodged in a juvenile home and later released on bail. "After hearing both sides and examining all evidence and witnesses, the court of additional district and session judge Mumtaz Ali sentenced the two adults to life imprisonment and awarded the minor 15 years in jail," the additional district govt counsel added.
