Firozabad man kills 12yo son over paternity suspicion, property dispute; arrested
Agra: A 44-year-old man allegedly hacked his 12-year-old son to death with a sickle and hid the body in a trunk in Firozabad's Makkanpur area over a property dispute and suspicions that the boy was not his biological offspring.Police said they received information from a woman named Urmila about a murder at her house on Monday. Upon reaching the spot, cops found bloodstains inside the house. During a search, the team found the woman's son Mayank's body inside a locked trunk. A case was registered under BNS sections 103(1) (murder) and 238 (destroying evidence) against the boy's father Rajesh Kumar Rajput.Makkhanpur SHO Chaman Lal Sharma said the accused had been married to Urmila for about 22 years and was addicted to alcohol, leading to frequent domestic disputes. He added that the house was registered in Mayank's name, with Rajput as the guardian, which further strained their relations."Due to prolonged suspicion about the child's parentage and ongoing marital discord, the accused planned to kill his son and wife," the SHO said. He executed his plan when the child returned home from school and other family members were away, police added."Rajput inflicted 25 to 30 blows on Mayank's head, face and body, killing him instantly. He then cleaned the house and was hiding the body in a trunk when Urmila arrived and saw the blood-stained sickle in his hand. Rajput panicked and fled the scene," Sharma said.DSP Amreesh Kumar said the accused was arrested on Tuesday and the murder weapon seized from a nearby mustard field.
