Cricketer Rinku’s father passes away after prolonged illness
Agra: Team India cricketer Rinku Singh's father Khanchand Singh passed away on Friday morning after a prolonged illness. He was 60. His health had deteriorated in recent days, prompting his transfer on Feb 21 from Aligarh to a private hospital in Greater Noida where he was placed on ventilator support.His body was brought to Aligarh for the last rites. The funeral was held at Rotary Shishu Moksh Dham, attended by public representatives and prominent citizens of the district. Rinku Singh, who was part of the men's T20 World Cup, returned from Chennai to pay his respects, and carried his father's bier.A large number of relatives, residents and well-wishers joined the funeral procession. Family members said that upon learning of his father's deteriorating health, Rinku briefly returned home during the tournament.Satish Gautam, MP from Aligarh, expressed his condolences. He noted that Rinku had brought recognition to the country through his performances and that people from all sections of society stood in solidarity with the family. Anil Parashar, MLA from Kol assembly segment, also conveyed condolences.
