Agra: The district administration and Pollution Control Board sealed six factories and slag-processing units in Sandhavali-Sujadu industrial area of Muzaffarnagar after finding them operating without proper documents. Officials said they received repeated complaints about pollution and environmental violations in the industrial area.
Kunwar Santosh Kumar, assistant environment engineer, said, “The units were operating without permission and the required licences. Further legal action is being taken in the matter.” Kumar said several operators and workers fled the area after spotting the enforcement team on Tuesday.
City magistrate Pankaj Prakash Rathore said the drive against units contributing to pollution will continue, and teams from the administration and pollution department are working on it.
