14yo boy sexually assaults 4yo girl, sent to juvenile home

Agra: A 14-year-old boy, a Class 9 student, allegedly sexually assaulted a four-year-old girl from his neighbourhood, police said here on Sunday. The accused lived in the same locality as the survivor.An FIR was registered under BNS Section 65(2) (rape) and relevant provisions of the Pocso Act. The boy went into hiding after the case was registered, and he was traced on Saturday.Police said the boy allegedly lured the child playing outside her house and took her to a secluded plot nearby and sexually assaulted her on Dec 23. The girl returned home and narrated the incident to her mother, following which the family approached the police immediately."The accused boy was produced before the juvenile justice board and sent to a juvenile home as per procedure," the SHO said, adding both families belonged to similar economic backgrounds and lived in close proximity.Etmadpur ACP Devesh Singh said legal proceedings were underway in accordance with juvenile justice norms. "The survivor was sent for a medical examination, and statements are being recorded," he said.Earlier, a similar incident involving a minor survivor and a minor accused was reported from another part of Agra, in which the boy allegedly entered the girl's house on the pretext of collecting study material.
