13 yrs on, 3 get life term for abducting, killing trader in Aligarh

Agra: A court in Aligarh sentenced three men, aged between 40 and 45, to life imprisonment 13 years after they abducted and murdered an animal trader in UP's Nagla Mansingh village. The court of additional district and sessions judge Nawal Kishore Singh also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 each on the convicts, additional district govt counsel KM Johari said on Friday.The case unfolded on Sept 2, 2012, when Chob Singh, 35, a resident of Nagla Mansingh under Gandhi Park police station, was returning home with Rs 80,000 in cash after selling buffaloes at Quarsi cattle market.He met Kishan Veer, Rakesh and Roop Kishor — daily wagers from the same village — near an old bridge around 3.30pm. The men took him to a liquor shop near Kamalpur bypass where they drank together. When he did not return home, his family lodged a police complaint.On Sept 5, following reports of an unidentified body at the mortuary, the family identified it as Chob. Multiple injuries on the body indicated that he was beaten to death.Based on a complaint filed by the deceased's wife, Vimlesh Devi, a case was registered under sections 302 (murder), 364 (kidnapping) and 201 (disappearance of Evidence) of IPC. Following an investigation, the three accused were arrested and sent to jail."After hearing both sides and examining witnesses and evidence, the court convicted the three men on Thursday evening," said the ADGC.
