Where to complain if someone asks for extra money for LPG cylinder or delays delivery
Concerns about LPG cylinder availability in India have increased due to rising tensions in the Middle East. Some households expressed worries about potential disruptions in the domestic cooking gas supply, fearing shortages or delayed deliveries. As reported by PIB, domestic consumers have been prioritised, and the distribution system continues to operate normally. Authorities have advised citizens to book cylinders only when necessary, avoid hoarding, and stay updated through official sources. LPG companies such as Indane, Bharat Gas, and HP Gas provide helpline numbers for customers to report delivery issues, dealer misconduct, or other service concerns promptly.
Instances have been reported where some LPG dealers have delayed deliveries or requested additional payments. Such practices are in violation of government guidelines. Consumers encountering these issues can lodge complaints directly through official helpline numbers provided by their LPG company.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has assured the public that the supply of LPG is stable within the country. In case of any issues regarding supply, the government will first attend to the needs of households instead of commercial users. According to reports, the distribution network for LPG cylinders by major companies is fully functional, which ensures timely delivery for booked cylinders.
The government has also pointed out that the booking cycle for LPG cylinders has been updated. In the updated cycle, the number of days between successive bookings has been raised from 21 days to 25 days. This has been done to help the supply chain run efficiently under changing global circumstances.
The domestic production of LPG has been stepped up by 40%. LPG imports to India are mainly from the Middle East, which is considered one of the major LPG-producing areas in the world. The major LPG exporters to India are Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
