Hyundai and Kia Introduce Cutting-Edge Electrification Technology for Electric Vehicles
South Korea's top automakers Hyundai Motor and Kia revealed their latest electric vehicle (EV) technologies at the annual EV Trend Korea exhibition. The event, now in its seventh year, is organized by the Ministry of Environment to boost EV technologies and adoption. Held at the COEX convention center in southern Seoul, the three-day trade show commenced recently, according to Yonhap news agency.
Hyundai Motor introduced special booths, dubbed EV Benefit Zone and EV Experience Zone, where attendees could witness and test the advantages of EVs over traditional internal combustion engine vehicles. Notable among Hyundai's showcased technologies was the V2L system, enabling the use of electric vehicle power to operate household appliances. The company also displayed its updated Ioniq 5 and Kona EV models.
Meanwhile, Kia showcased three themed spaces focusing on EV charging, space and technology, and sustainability. Visitors had the opportunity to explore various services and features tailored for Kia model drivers, including over-the-air software updates and the company's initiatives towards environmental sustainability.
