HYDERABAD: Close on the heels of Afro-Asian Games, the city will cuists take stage from Monday. With record 48 participants from 19 countries confirming their entry in the World Billiards Championships here, a cracking potting fare is in store.
Moreover, the event will also see a new 150 up points format being introduced to fuel spectators interest. As a result of the new system, games will be shorter.
Since the new format is coming into force here for the first time, even top stars may feel the heat early on.
Few players have already expressed their reservations about the dispensation old time format.
Among the stars of the show will be India’s newly-crowned World snooker champion Pankaj Advani who will set the ball rolling against John Hartley of England in an opening Group E on Monday.
