Biography
While pursuing her Masters in Mass Communication at Panjab University, Chandigarh, Monica Uppal joined The Tribune as a Sub-Editor in 1993. After migrating to San Jose, California, she worked as a commissioned reporter and is now a freelancer for US and Indian publications. Covering cultural, political, religious, sports, and social events for years has helped her foster a strong relationship with the Indo-American community. She is a radio host and stage actor. Currently, she is editing a book.

A Punjabi play, “Umran Langhian Pabban Bhaar", based on a story about a man's dedication to his family despite all odds, received an overwhelming response here recently. Organized by the North Bay Cultural Society, Santa Rosa, it was the first time ever that a Punjabi play was performed live on stage in the city.
