He has been seething for years over America's surging gun violence and inaction on firearm reform.

America disgraced itself with yet another mass shooting in a Texas school, where a teenager with state-legislated easy access to military grade guns massacred 19 children. The 18-year old, named as Salvador Ramos, went on the rampage after shooting his grandmother (who survived). He was killed by a border patrol agent in a shootout. Media reports said the teenager, a student at the same Robb Elementary School in the mostly Latino town of Uvalde was upset over failing grades and being bullied because of a lisp and for dressing unconventionally. His since-removed Instagram account featured photos of a young man with shoulder-length hair, his eyes closed. The account also included images of two assault rifles and a plastic gun magazine.

Conservative Republicans are on the run politically in America with accusations of having blood on their hands following another sickening mass shooting. A permissive gun culture they have enabled in the name of protecting the constitutionally guaranteed right to bear arms is alleged to be the trigger that is perpetuating massacres across the US. Calling them murderers and baby-killers, angry Americans lit into many Republican lawmakers who have openly boasted of opposing Democratsponsored gun control measures and supporting gun rights legislation in the name of protecting freedom.

Juan Paulo Ybarra Jr said his little sister, a 10-year-old student at Robb Elementary School, described what happened in the moments before and leading to the massacre at her school. Ybarra said that his sister told him that her fourth-grade class had been watching a movie when she looked out of the classroom window and saw a man outside with a gun. She alerted her teacher, and soon the classroom could hear gunfire aimed toward nearby windows. Finally, Ybarra said, his sister described her and her fellow classmates jumping out of the window, one by one, and running to a funeral home across the street for refuge. (NYT)

US President Joe Biden is planning to visit the Texas town where a gunman killed 19 schoolchildren and two teachers, possibly as early as this weekend, a senior administration official said. White House officials were still working out details for a visit to Uvalde, Texas, the official told Reuters.

A law enforcement official says all those killed at a Texas elementary school were in the same classroom. Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Christopher Olivarez tells CNN that all victims were in the same fourth-grade classroom at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde. That's about 85 miles west of San Antonio. Nineteen children and two teachers were killed in Tuesday's shooting.
