The
Election Commission of India (ECI) on March 16, 2024, announced the upcoming Lok Sabha election schedule. As per ECI's announcement, the General elections in West Bengal will be held in all the seven phases starting April 19, 2024. Voting in West Bengal will be held for 42 Lok Sabha seats. The model code of conduct has come into force starting the evening of March 16 and will remain in force even after the polling on April 19 till the entire process of counting is completed on June 4.
The counting of the votes will be done collectively across the nation on June 4, 2024.
