India was under attack in the UK Parliament as well as from a Muslim civil rights advocacy group in the US on its human rights record and alleged rights abuses in Kashmir. British MPs — from Labour and the Conservatives — lined up to slam India at a debate in the House of Commons on human rights in Kashmir on Thursday tabled by Labour MP Debbie Abrahams and Pakistan-origin Labour MP Yasmin Qureshi. The Indian government was particularly dismayed by the some of the language used by the MPs in the Backbench Debate in the House of Commons.
