Biden expressed his confidence in Austin's leadership despite the lapse, speaking to reporters during a tour of local businesses near Allentown, Pennsylvania. Responding affirmatively, Biden admitted it was indeed a lapse in judgment when asked about Austin not disclosing his hospitalization.
