In a recent development, the Rajasthan government has taken swift action by suspending an IAS and one IPS officer and six other employees. Their suspension came after their involvement in a violent altercation with workers at a prominent restaurant on the Ajmer-Kishangarh highway came to light. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, June 12 and the government's response was prompted by the emergence of CCTV footage, which was reported to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday. Girdhar, serving as the commissioner of Ajmer Development Authority (ADA), and Sushil Kumar, an IPS officer recently transferred to the district of Gangpur City, were among those suspended. The owner of the Makrana Raj Hotel & Restaurant, Mahendra Singh, stated that the altercation took place when the two officials and their friends visited the eatery during the intervening nights of Sunday and Monday. Arriving at around 2:25 am, their presence sparked a confrontation with the workers, some of whom were sleeping outside the restaurant. The workers promptly reported the incident to the hotel owner, who then informed the Gegal police station.
