India Boosts Maritime Power with More Poseidon Aircraft for Indian Ocean

Amid focus on the Great Nicobar Island’s strategic importance near the Strait of Malacca, the Indian Navy has ordered six more long-range Poseidon patrol aircraft. Equipped for anti-submarine warfare, reconnaissance and full-spectrum maritime surveillance, the advanced platforms will strengthen India’s ability to monitor threats across the Indian Ocean.
