A fierce diplomatic showdown erupted at the UNSC as India and Pakistan traded accusations over terrorism, Kashmir and water security. India directly accused Pakistan of using terrorism as state policy and reviving its notorious “bleeding India by a thousand cuts” doctrine. Delhi warned Islamabad of consequences if cross-border terror infrastructure continues operating. Pakistan responded by internationalising Kashmir and accusing India of threatening regional stability through the Indus Waters Treaty dispute. The tensions rose further after China publicly supported Pakistan’s Kashmir stance under the UN framework. India rejected the statement outright and said Kashmir remains a bilateral issue with no scope for external interference. The clash at the United Nations has revealed the deepening hostility between the two nuclear neighbours at a time when regional tensions, terror concerns and strategic rivalries are intensifying across South Asia.
