Mars, the red planet, and the moon will pair up together on 27 July (tonight), to create dazzling night sky for stargazers. While the moon itself will undergo its longest eclipse in the last century, Mars will also be at its closest to Earth since the last 15 years. The next time it will be this close will be in the year 2287, according to astronomers. These two celestial bodies will be the brightest objects in the night sky, though the moon will be much bigger than Mars. The bright red color of Mars will also lend the moon its red hue, thus giving it the name- ‘Blood Moon’. To top it off, it will all be visible with the naked eye!
