“Seen attacks in vicinity of India…” EAM Jaishankar warns Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Tehran

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on January 14 embarked on a two-day visit to Iran amid tensions in the Red Sea region. Soon after EAM reached Tehran, he called on Iranian President Dr Ebrahim Raisi, conveying greetings of PM Modi. Jaishankar also met Iran’s FM Hossein Amir Abdollahian and held discussions on bilateral, regional and global issuesWhile addressing a joint PC with his Iranian Counterpart Amir Abdollahian, Jaishankar highlighted the threats to maritime commercial traffic. After Iran-backed Houthis attacked a cargo ship in the Red Sea, EAM issued a warning about attacks in the “vicinity of India”
