Cockroach Janta Party's call for a June 6 protest in Delhi has triggered questions over compliance with established protest regulations. During a press conference, party spokesperson Saurav Das announced that founder Abhijeet Dipke would arrive in Delhi and, along with supporters and Sonam Wangchuk, proceed towards Parliament Street to seek permission for a demonstration at Jantar Mantar. The issue gained further attention after Dipke stated in an interview that police permission had not yet been secured and would be sought on the same day. Delhi Police guidelines require prior approval for protests at Jantar Mantar and impose restrictions on participant numbers, timings, loudspeaker use and public-order arrangements. As supporters prepare to mobilise in the capital, the proposed protest has reignited debate over whether large demonstrations should be announced only after obtaining official clearance.
