Congress Leader Tariq Anwar on July 02 sharply reacted to Ajit Pawar’s decision of joining the Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra. Talking to ANI, Tariq Anwar said that the people who joined the Maharashtra government are opportunists and they joined NDA to save themselves from Enforcement Directorate. “Along with the ‘Operation Lotus’, it is also ED operation. They had problems to safeguard themselves from the ED. If they are honest and dutiful, they should have fought this through,” said Tariq Anwar.“Ditching Sharad Pawar at this age wasn’t right. This is Pawar Saheb’s gift that NCP is still alive. These people who have left are opportunists,” he added. Notably, in a dramatic turn of events, NCP Leader Ajit Pawar and other party leaders on July 02 reached the Raj Bhavan and joined the NDA Government.
